Well woohoo! I had a fun Wednesday night and it is all thanks to Nuffnang for inviting me to attend the Signature Grand Launch @ The Roof. It was my first blogger event and I was very excited! :)
Luckily, I was allowed to bring a plus one ( I am shy with people I do not know, plus it's a blogger event so who knows I might say something silly) Also, I guess I am a little bit more happening now...LOL!

Taking a selfie before we embark on to our journey... LOL it was only a 30 minutes drive. The traffic was unbelievably smooth. We reached 1 Utama earlier than scheduled so we went on to have dinner first. Oh man, I think I suffered walking with heels. I don't normally wear heels so I think I stumbled a few times while walking. They say shorter people would be more stable because we are closer to the center of gravity...absolutely FALSE, at least to me.

We had Dubu Dubu for dinner, that was my second time dining in that restaurant. I remember the first time when I dined in, I was disappointed because I didn't find it authentic enough? That was besides the point anyways.

The event started at 8pm but Samantha and I were the first few guests who arrived early at the event. We met another blogger named Laura!

I thought it was gonna be a lot of Boom, Boom,Boom at first but the songs they played were pretty decent and quite old school. It's not bad at all.

Jack Saw was the bloggers manager, so he showed us to our table. I was not really happy with where we were placed because our table was right at the corner beside the cake display like it was just awkward.
I never had this before hohoho, I did but that was because I reserved a table BUT this was completely different.
We were soon served with Kronenboug 1664, a French beer and I actually really like this beer. I was like "oh, this is awesome!" Three of us just waited for the rest of the bloggers to arrive so that we could start our Food tasting. It's like a wish come true! Getting invited to places, trying food and giving honest reviews.

So while we waited for the rest of the bloggers to arrive, Sam and I just took pictures and talked to Laura.

All four of us waiting for the rest to arrive. The ambience of the place was quite nice tho, it felt classy? Or it just feels like a place where people would hang to release some stress after working hours with music, food and drinks.

The rest of the awesome people at the event! :) We waited for the food for quite some time and we were all so hungry. Finally, when the food arrive..

It was all in small portions..umm not enough to feed all 10 of us. I know it's a food tasting BUT we could at least gotten enough, I guess. The picture above was the second dish. The first were some oysters with mango if I am not mistaken. I did not had a bite on that because the smell of the oyster was not fresh appealing to me. See, I had a really terrible food poisoning experience last year when I ate at TAO buffet. I had 2 oysters and BAM! food poisoning that lead me to have the worse gastric of the year of 2013. Then I just told myself that I will not eat any oysters unless it is shucked in front of me.Anyways, the pasta dish was actually not bad. I enjoyed the squid ink pasta, the taste of it all was balance.

The live band that played the whole night. They were pretty good! Played some classics and some up to date songs as well. woo hoo!

Look at how I tried to do a wink while I drink? It looks like I'm closing my eyes because my eyes are so small. LOL

It was a really fun night and I enjoyed myself. It's rare for me to be out for an event on a week day night but this was worth it! Thank you once again Nuffnang and The Roof for inviting me to this event. :)

Woke up about 5am today. I was so sure that I could have left home at 6am to avoid all of that traffic but I only manage to leave home at 630am. I was trying to manage my brother's GPS. Boy, that thing was laggy as hell.

On a lighter note, I had such a great weekend with some of my closest friends. Went for my first Halloween party at Zouk and it was so fun.

So I tried painting a scary face. It's a total  FAILURE that's for sure LOL. Robyn came by later on to touch up my face a little atleast my face didn't look as bad as  this. :)

I didn't take a lot of pictures because it was super crowded and this was the only picture I manage to capture. Well I dressed up as a dead girl but I got rejected by the bouncer. We were needed to dressed in FULL costume and we planned this pretty last minute. I immediately wiped off my horrible face paint.

Robyn as a mad scientist, Ee Von as Wednesday Adams and me the not so dead girl. I think I had a little bit too much of Long Island Tea because my Sunday wasn't fun at all.

Never again Long Island tea.

I still can't shake off the feeling that if I have done embarrassing thing which I highly doubt I did.

Also, I have been looking through some recipes to make hand pies, Apple hand pies instead of a normal tart. However, I'm contemplating on which to pair the apples with. Rum? Caramel or ginger?

Went out last week with the girls. We were debating on which cafe to visit. One of my friends suggested we visit Standing Theory at SS 2 so we did!

It's a small place but I thought they could have put in more tables. Anyhoo, I didn't take a lot of pictures because I didn't had the mood. Also, they have a really limited menu.

We had surfing chicken, VD roll (Vietnamese pork sandwich) and B.C.C waffles. The waffles had smoked bacon, fat baby corn flake ice cream, bananas and Gula melaka. I really love the waffles. Actually, I think I love the waffles because there's bacon. MY LOVE FOR BACON, I can't explain my love for bacon. LOL
Overall, the food was just alright for me.

On a lighter note! I think my hyperacidity has finally calmed down. I've been having really bad gastric pains and so much of air/wind in my stomach. It's a torture. I've been having this for 4 years and it gets worse each time.
The pain used to last me about 5 days then it went up to a week. Recently the pain lasted me for 3 weeks which was really sucky. I had to eat on time, if I delayed a little bit then I'll vomit but it's all alright now! Woo!

Woke up yesterday and asked my family if they wanted burgers or pasta?

My brother wanted burgers so burgers it was! Looked up at Heston Blumenthal's perfect burger recipe and I was like oh man that's a lot of work plus I don't have a meat grinder at home. I'm thinking if I should get the grinder attachment for my kitchen aid. Hmm..

So yeah, I went grocery shopping to get ingredients for the pork burgers that I was about to make.

Went to Long farm to get my minced pork and got 2kg of mince pork. Why did I get so much? Because mom asked to get more. I'm always cooking too much, it feels like I'm cooking for a whole village all the time.

I made apple pork patties. I figured hey why not? I actually took the recipe from  lamb meat ball recipe and then just tweak it because that's what I do best. *flips hair* I kid, but that's reall what I usually do.

Nush gave me this recipe book a while ago as a gift and I freaking love this book because it's funny.

I also made apple compote as a spread to go with the Pork Burgers, I'm like why not?! Since people use caramelised onions/onion jam as a spread for beef burgers so why not I use Apple compote. Hun asked me why I like complicating my food and I just told him that I want to be out of my comfort zone where I do something different. I'm glad I followed my gut? Because it sure balanced the flavours of the burger :)

Voila! I wanted to make Heston Blumenthal's Perfect Chips but the time to make those were a little bit too long. Plus, my thermometer went missing and I'm still sad about it because it's not cheap! :(

I'm thinking about making an apple pie this weekend. Hmm.

Sometimes, I wished people can be more polite and thankful.

I honestly hate people who are rude, who likes them anyway? YOU should treat people the way YOU want to be treated.

Made Orange Poppy seed cakes last week. Oh man, I'm so rusty in frosting cakes. The reason I why I took the picture from the top view was also because the sides of the cake looks like crap :( but it's alright I guess?

Then I made brownies again!

I was thinking why not since I still have some chocolate buttons left and it's easy to make them. :)

So I brought everything to work on Tuessay because I had a training session on Monday. Brought along a lot of candies I bought in Singapore, it's so cheeeeap! If you don't convert it. There were a few shops in Bugis Street and they shit loads of Japanese candy and other kind as well. I love candy empire but if they have the same thing in Bugis Street and it's cheaper, why not right?!

I felt bad tho that I didn't bring enough of Brownies and cake to share around the whole office. Half of the Brownies were given to my sister. Oh well :)

Days like these I just want to sleep the whole day.

I've been feeling so drained since Monday and my stomach is still giving me problems.

It is all really frustrating but it's OKAY!

I shall continue on this day with a positive thought :)
